MOSAIC INTERNSHIP

I served as the editor for Saint Mary's University of Minnesota's annual literary/art magazine, Mosaic, for the Spring 2021 semester.

Normally, this internship/position and its duties are spread out over the school year, whereas mine consisted of just one semester.

The editor each year chooses a specific theme and assembles a selection committee to help decide which submissions make it in that year's edition. Because we had just come off of a COVID-19 plagued year, I tried to center this year's publication around "light" coming out of "darkness."

Once selections were confirmed, I created the layout for the magazine. In addition, I utilized some of my skills in Public Relations to create posters advertising the submission deadline, start an Instagram account, and finally create a promotional video that was eventually sent out to the campus in the "CommUNITY" update emails.

Throughout this internship, I not only learned how to create a professional product but to communicate efficiently, develop additional time-management skills, and become confident in my skills. I look forward to utilizing these skills in future endeavors.
